As announced a few weeks ago by WhatsApp CEO and owner Mark Zuckerberg, the messaging app will soon have reactions for messages. These reactions will be available to everyone and are very easy to use: you just have to press and hold the message you want to react to, and select one of the six emojis currently available.

Reactions are just what they sound like: a way to react to messages with more than just text. In WhatsApp, reactions will be six emojis that you can select by pressing and holding a message and selecting one of the icons that appear. These six emojis are the same ones that are available on Facebook Messenger: Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, and Thankful.
You can use reactions in both group chats and individual conversations. If you’re in a group chat with someone and they send you a message that you want to react to with the sad emoji, you just have to press and hold the message and select sad from the list of reactions. Your reaction will then appear next to the message, and anyone else in the chat can see it.
Reactions are a great way to add some emotion to your conversations, and they can also be used as a quick way to respond to someone without having to write a complete message. If you’re in a group chat and someone asks a yes or no question, you can now react with the appropriate emoji instead of writing out the full word.
Reactions will be available on WhatsApp starting today, so go ahead and start using them in your chats. Do you like the new WhatsApp reactions? Let us know in the comments below!
